Hi I’M SaraH,
a Colombian photographer, proud mother, and very married wife.
I have a weak spot for palitos de queso, make lists for practically everything, love plants more than is reasonable, and dogs even more than that.
Julius and I got married five years ago and recently, our little family even grew by one. A tiny human joined our pack, now setting much of our rhythm. Our life moves between countries, cultures, and three languages: Spanish, German, and English. It is lively, occasionally chaotic, and very much ours.
We recharge through the slow-starting days: Bossa Nova playing somewhere in the house, avocado-and-egg sandwiches (with caramalized onions) for breakfast, and a cup of hot chocolate while deciding what the day will be. Most likely spent in nature, ending by a calm lake as the sky fades from orange to pink, then curling up under a blanket by a bonfire… that's often enough of a plan.
Being Colombian partly means that I tend to feel things a little too much. This has turned out to be a surprisingly useful trait when I pick up the camera. Weddings have a way of gathering a whole life into one room, the people who shaped you, the people you chose, and all that comes with having them close. I want you to be among them, while I capture how your day unfolds with artful honesty. I work quietly and attentively, creating photographs with a lot of character that remain honest to your day: Your father trying to keep it together, your friends forgetting there is a camera or a portrait session with an artful editorial touch.
If that feels like your kind of celebration, I'd be honored to hear from you.
